What to Expect
Prior to First Session
Contact us for a free, 15-minute consultation over the phone to determine whether our practice would be a good fit for your needs.
First Session
During your initial session, we will get to know each other. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, learn about your background, and understand your goals moving forward. You will get the opportunity to ask questions and explore whether we feel like a good therapeutic fit.
Ongoing Sessions
Therapy sessions are most often scheduled weekly for 50 minutes. Our practice provides both short-term and longer-term psychotherapy, which will be collaboratively discussed as part of your treatment planning during initial sessions.

Safe and loving relationships are often the thing we humans long for most. And extensive research shows that positive relationships not only keep us happier but also physically healthier. But relationships are also hard – sometimes really hard.
We can help you develop more connected and authentic relationships. Therapy is all about identifying and shifting relationship patterns that keep you stuck.
Together, we’ll help you clarify what you want in relationships, learn how to set boundaries, develop new relationships, strengthen the relationships that matter most to you, and overall feel more connected.
We tackle relationship concerns through a variety of techniques. Primary approaches include:
Attachment-focused Therapy
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Trauma comes in many forms. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety or panic, painful memories, sleeplessness or nightmares, intense feelings such as guilt or shame, being on constant high alert, or a loss of trust. Trauma impacts many areas of life, but there are effective treatments to help you draw on your strengths and feel like yourself again.
We offer support for those who have experienced trauma across the spectrum, including abuse, neglect, violence, accidents, illness, transgenerational trauma, grief, and other highly distressing experiences. We also support individuals who struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma (C-PTSD).
We support you in your recovery process by drawing on:
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Attachment-focused Therapy
Somatic Approaches

If you’re seeking neurodivergent-affirming care, meaning a therapeutic approach that recognizes neurodivergence as a natural variation in human brain function, we’d be excited to support you. Our approach to care focuses on understanding and supporting an individual’s unique strengths, needs, and identity.
Similarly, we offer affirming care for clients of all genders and sexualities. LGBTQIA+ affirming care is attentive to the stigma and stress you may experience and works to prioritize creating a safe environment to explore gender identity, role, and expression; cope with dysphoria and stigma; have support through the coming out process; and increase queer joy.

Do you sometimes feel like your emotions take over and run the show? Or do you struggle to identify what you are feeling and what those feelings are trying to communicate to you? Perhaps you struggle to convey your emotions to others? Emotions are an essential part of the human experience, but they can also feel overwhelming, confusing, or painful.
We offer not only empathy and validation but also practical skills for managing emotions. Learning skills and having support in implementing them in your life can help you feel empowered and like you’re in control, rather than letting your emotions dictate your actions.
Sometimes people experience such intense emotions that they have thoughts of suicide or engage in self-harm behaviors such as cutting. We also offer strategies and skills to help you reduce those experiences.
When building skills is your primary goal, we often start with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT helps individuals develop skills in four key areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

A particularly unique offering of our practice is expert support for individuals who may be diagnosed with schizophrenia or other psychosis-related concerns.
We offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), the leading treatment for psychosis-related concerns. We also integrate other approaches with CBTp to help you achieve a wide range of goals.

We offer support to those experiencing chronic illness or the physical impacts of life transitions. We are particularly good at supporting chronically ill individuals struggling with symptoms related to POTS, symptomatic hypermobility, and hEDS. Additionally, when life transitions impact how you feel, such as menopause, we’re also here to offer support.

Family Therapy and Education
We most often provide family therapy in order to support individual therapy. If you or your loved one engages in individual therapy through our practice and thinks family sessions would provide additional support, reach out.
We also provide Family Education Sessions on specific topics. These sessions are for the loved one(s) of someone experiencing:
Schizophrenia and Psychosis
Borderline Personality Disorder
These education sessions are designed to provide information to loved ones seeking to learn more about these diagnoses, how to support their loved ones, and additional resources. Loved ones often find two to four Education Sessions useful, but we tailor the number to the needs of you and your family.

Evidence-Based Treatments
Our approach to therapy bridges evidence-based practice with clinical intuition and client preference.
Therapy shouldn’t be rigid or one-size-fits-all; therapy should be creative, competent, and tailored to the individual.
Some of the approaches we draw from include:
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your past experiences and relationships shape the way you think, feel, and act today. By bringing more awareness to patterns outside your awareness, this approach can help you break free from stuck cycles, deepen self-understanding, and create lasting emotional change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a skills-based therapy that helps you manage intense emotions, build healthier relationships, and reduce unhelpful behaviors. It combines acceptance and change—helping you feel understood while also learning concrete tools for coping, communication, and emotional balance.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns and learning new ways to respond to challenging situations, you can reduce anxiety, depression, and stress and feel more in control of your life.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based approach to healing from stress and trauma. It helps people notice and gently release physical tension, sensations, and patterns that get “stuck” in the body after overwhelming experiences. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or memories, SE supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and calm. Many people find it helps them feel more grounded, resilient, and at ease in their daily lives.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
Prolonged Exposure is a specialized trauma therapy. It helps you safely face memories, feelings, and situations you’ve been avoiding after trauma. Through gradual and supported exposure, meaning approaching the things you’ve been avoiding, the fear and distress tied to those experiences lessen over time, helping you regain a sense of freedom and control. Trauma can make life feel smaller; prolonged exposure therapy can help you expand your life to be full again.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a specialized trauma therapy. It helps you recognize and change beliefs that may have been shaped by traumatic experiences—such as shame, guilt, or mistrust—so you can move forward with a stronger sense of safety and self-compassion. If the “story” you tell yourself about a trauma keeps you feeling stuck, CPT may be a great fit.

Fees and Payment
Our rates are comparable to those of other empirically trained practitioners in the area. Session fees represent the level of advanced training held by the practitioner and the level of care and support you can expect. Payment is due at the time of the session.
Insurance: Our practice does not accept insurance. If your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, we can provide documentation (superbill) to submit for reimbursement. It is up to the client to determine if they are eligible for out-of-network coverage. Learn more about using out-of-network benefits here and on our FAQS page.
